The research work of the scientists in this unit is focused on the following areas: methodological issues of population and labour force reproduction; impact of economic and social factors on population reproduction and demographic processes evolution; rural depopulation; basic regularities and specificity of the historical and demographic development of the population inhabiting the Bulgarian territories; demographic forecasts and projections; demographic policies.
