We would like to invite you to participate in the academic conference with international participation Demographic Challenges and Policies, organised by the Institute for Population and Human Studies at BAS and funded under the project Measures to overcome the demographic crisis in Republic of Bulgaria. The conference will be held in Sofia on 14-15 November, 2018.

6. Demographic Policies during the Ninetieth - Twentieth Centuries.

 Registration form and abstract should be submitted no later than 25/09/2018
 Acceptance notification will be sent by e-mail by 05/10/2018

Translation from Bulgarian, Russian, English will be provided.
Travel and accommodation costs will not be covered.

The full-text papers will be reviewed by international reviewersBased on the reviews, selected papers will be published in a special issue of the journal Psychological Research

 Another papers with a positive review will be published in a regular issue of the journal. Every author/co-author may participate in the conference with maximum two papers.

 


 

DEADLINES

Note: Presenting author’s and co-author’s registration fees include: conference materials, coffee breaks, cocktail party “Department of Psychology, IPHS-BAS, and Friends”and the issue of the journal “Psychological Research” with the published papers after it comes out of print.

The registration fee for participation without presentation includes: conference materials and coffee breaks.

About us

The Institute for Population and Human Studies is an academic centre for theoretical and applied research in different fields of demography and psychology.

The mission of IPHS is to carry out demographic and psychological research aimed at studying regularities and determinants of population and individual development. Analyses of reproduction processes and psychological mechanisms for regulation of behaviour with the purpose of assisting institutions in the implementation of strategies and policies for social and personal growth in the process of European integration and world globalization.

IPHS' key research areas are as follows:

  • Structural changes in population due to falling birth rates, ageing, migration, destabilisation of the family institution, morbidity and other demographic challenges;
  • Demographic behaviour changes: Theories, methodological research and empirical analyses in conditions of economic and demographic crisis;
  • Integration processes and national identity in the context of ethnic, religious, etc. diversity, increased population mobility and globalization;
  • Changes in personal potential for development and lifelong learning and creating practical approaches for improving the quality of life.
